At BowStern, Communication Strategists are expected to fully understand integrated marketing and have the ability to successfully manage and navigate client accounts and relationships. Strong client relations, detailed account planning, time management, writing and interpersonal skills are expected. Strategists are responsible for adapting and applying creative solutions during challenging situations, managing project deadlines and multiple moving elements with great attention to detail. A Communication Strategist can lead a team or be included as a supporting asset for a team. Strategists work with a diverse client base and are assigned at the discretion of senior management with the success of the client and BowStern at the heart of that decision. When not working on client assignments, Strategists work on business development initiatives and contribute to supporting nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve.

  • Communicates with clients and gathers information about a project’s scope, budgets and timelines
  • Meets with other executives to discuss clients’ project goals, progress and outcomes
  • Develops budgets and timelines for clients and BowStern initiatives
  • Coordinates teams to meet project milestones
  • Assembles new teams to meet clients’ or businesses’ goals
  • Reports on all marketing activities

Seeking:

a part-time Public Relations Account Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with executing comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance our client’s reputation and visibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Media Relations: Cultivating and maintaining relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers and influencers. This includes pitching story ideas, coordinating interviews and managing press releases.
  • Content Creation: Assisting with the creation of press releases, media kits, pitches and other promotional materials. This may also involve drafting social media posts or newsletters.
  • Research and Analysis: Conducting research on industry trends, competitor activities and target audience preferences to inform PR strategies and campaigns. Analyzing campaign metrics and media coverage to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Influencer Outreach: Identifying, contacting and partnering with social media influencers to promote client brands and opportunities.
  • Event Coordination: Planning and execution of events, such as press conferences, product launches or media briefings. This could involve logistical tasks, guest list management and on-site coordination.
  • Client Communication: Acting as a liaison between the PR agency and its clients, maintaining regular communication, and providing updates on campaign progress, results and strategy.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Contributing creative ideas and innovative approaches to PR campaigns to help clients stand out and achieve their objectives.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Being able to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Administrative Support: Providing general administrative assistance to the PR team as needed, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars and organizing files and documents.
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a public relations role (agency, corporate communications or related field) is preferred. This could include internships, part-time roles or freelance work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for drafting press releases, pitching media outlets and communicating with clients and team members effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in PR software and tools, such as Cision and Meltwater, is desirable.
