BowStern Opens Doors At New Facility

Marketing Firm’s Space Encourages Collaboration and Creativity

(Tallahassee, Fla.)  BowStern Marketing Communications, a fully-integrated marketing firm headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida, opened the doors to their new facility today. Located in Summit East Technology Park, the new 6,000 square feet space is strategically designed to encourage teamwork and collaboration through an open-studio design.

“We are a crew of passionate, inspired individuals,” said Kelly Robertson, CEO and co-founder of BowStern. “For us, it was important that the new space facilitate creativity and collaboration, ultimately yielding innovative ideas and creative campaigns for our clients.”

The interior design is a mix of elements including wood, metal and glass intended to enhance the experience through a balance of dimension and texture. In addition to the open-concept work areas, BowStern’s office features modern spaces with swings, couches, a putting green and dartboard for informal meetings. President and co-founder Tom Derzypolski also called for the inclusion of a nursery as a reflection of company culture.

“Priorities and perspective are important for success in life,” said Derzypolski. “Our crew knows my priorities: God, family, work. We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly company, and it was important to bring that value into the new space.”

Most of the BowStern staff are young and are having or will likely have kids over the next several years. This nursery helps the crew manage family and work by keeping their littlest ones close by.

As local business owners, Derzypolski and Robertson are dedicated to supporting other local business owners. They hired Catherine Baker of Shelton Design for the overall design. Notable projects for Baker include Hotel Duval, Level 8 Lounge and The Front Porch. Mat Tharpe of Tharpe Construction and Remodeling completed the build-out. The project took three months to complete and showcases several custom-built pieces, including a conference table suggestive of a ship, state-of-the-art technology crucial to the company’s day-to-day work and flexible work space allowing for the addition of new team members.

Founded in 2010, the company has experienced rapid growth and now employees 25 people with the addition of four to six interns each semester. BowStern has quickly sailed to the forefront in strategic marketing for a variety of clients spanning a diverse array of industries including Gold’s Gyms, resorts, land developers, transportation systems, healthcare providers and government agencies. Their award-winning work has been recognized and honored at local, state, regional and international levels.

In conjunction with the open house, BowStern launched Project Mayday, a competition that will award $100,000 of in-kind marketing services to a deserving local non-profit. Any charitable organization may enter, and the winner will be announced in June.
