When COVID hit, and social distancing became the norm, BowStern launched into action to help one rural destination showcase its nature-based, family-friendly offerings. Encouraging visitors to seek ‘unpaved adventures’ allowed Wakulla County to tout outdoor exploration of their rustic trails and pristine waterways. Leaning into the road less traveled has helped this destination weather the COVID storm. Today, visitor numbers continue to grow well ahead of national trends.
Tucked along a private coastline in Costa Rica you will find Tulemar Resort & Beach. Boasting breathtaking views, private beach access, infinity pools, and onsite restaurants, this one-of-a-kind resort was a perfect getaway for the discerning traveler. BowStern was brought on to develop a strategy for increasing occupancy at the property. With a laser focused advertising effort dialed into psychographic, socioeconomic and geographic considerations, we increased occupancy to an astounding rate of 95% in record time.
With the goal of relocating Baby Boomers to Florida’s state capitol, BowStern was brought in to help put Tallahassee on the map. We focused on ‘Boomer-angs’ with prior connectivity to the city and ‘Anchored Boomers’ who had friends or family living nearby. Our campaign generated national attention and successfully got Boomers moving.
Travel + Leisure ranked Hilton Head Island “Best Island” in the continental United States. The 2.74 million annual visitors love the island. And more specifically, they love to visit the island with their pets. One Hilton Head Island resort brought in BowStern to drive occupancy with a paw-sitively unique message.

When the second most popular destination in Florida (bested only by Disney World) called upon our team to help evolve a decades-old brand, we pounced on the opportunity. BowStern worked closely with the Florida State Parks crew to develop a powerful new brand that would embody the essence of the natural habits found throughout the state.
Today, this destination branding can be seen ‘in the wild’ at all 175 Florida State Parks. As an added bonus, sales of Florida State Park apparel and merchandise have reached record highs.
