BowStern Selected For Seminole 100

Inc. Magazine names Tallahassee-based firm one of nation’s fastest-growing businesses

(Tallahassee, Fla.)  BowStern Marketing Communications, a fully integrated marketing firm owned by two Florida State University (FSU) alumni, has been selected for the inaugural Seminole 100 list. Compiled by Inc. Magazine in partnership with the Jim Moran Institute of for Global Entrepreneurship and Florida State University Alumni Association, this list names the fastest-growing private businesses across the nation owned by Seminoles. Criteria for the Seminole 100 list included annual revenue and year-over-year growth, and Inc. Magazine carefully analyzed revenue numbers to ensure the integrity and credibility of the list.

“Florida State is a rich tradition in my family, and I grew up wanting to go to FSU like both my father and my uncle did,” said Tom Derzypolski, President and co-founder of BowStern. “The academic rigor and the challenges set for me by professors helped prepare me for the challenges of starting and running my own company. To be selected as one of the inaugural Seminole 100 is an incredible honor.”

Derzypolski partnered with fellow FSU alumna Kelly Moore Robertson to open BowStern in 2010, and their goal was simple: produce innovative, memorable and results-driven campaigns for clients across the globe. In the seven years since then, BowStern has taken on clients in a variety of markets ranging from local nonprofits to international real estate companies. The agency offers a full suite of marketing services including public relations, graphic and web design, branding, advertising, social media and digital marketing.

BowStern’s selection for the Seminole 100 comes in the same week the agency won its fifth National Best Marketing Program at the Gold’s Gym International Convention in Las Vegas.

“Florida State taught me many things, including the power of fusing innovation with strategic vision,” said Robertson, BowStern’s CEO and co-founder. “Our team works together, combining their individual strengths to consistently produce campaigns that do more than win awards – they get our clients results.”

Believing their alma mater turns out talent, Robertson and Derzypolski actively recruit from FSU, and nearly three-quarters of the company’s employees are alumni. Additionally, BowStern brings in interns from Florida State’s College of Communication and Information and College of Motion Picture Arts each semester. For Robertson and Derzypolski, the legacy of Florida State includes working to cultivate the next generation of leaders and inspiring students to strive for excellence.
